I barely nudged the night table and it skipped, so I guess we need to be careful.ĥ. Sound quality is decent, but has NO skip protection. This operation briefly takes away the display of time, but that re-appears so don't panic. > button after it displays the number of tracks on CD. CD operation: To play a CD, on the left side select the CD option, open the top, put in CD and press the. Pain, yes, so if you can't remember what time each one is set to, make a sticky.Ĥ. It always goes to 12:00 when you press the button for either alarm 1 or 2. You must always reset the alarms when you press these alarm buttons - you can't look at what time it is set for and leave it. Press the top alarm button for alarm #2 or the bottom alarm button for alarm #1 along with your arrows for hours and minutes. For setting alarm times, use the alarm 1 and alarm 2 buttons on the top left side. The pm (evening indicator) in the upper left corner will light up when in regular clock mode to distinguish between days and nights be sure to get that right. >If you don't do this part right, your time setting and alarm setting will be way off!>) will change the hours. Aftward, you can check by what is flashing: you'll have military time if the blinking time upon release shows 00:00 and regular clock time if it shows 0:00. If you want military time, release the button on 24 if you want the regular 12 hour clock release it on 12. 1st time you press and hold 2-3 seconds, it very briefly flashes 24 then 12. The button with a drawing of a square and word "adjust" is the set/adjust button. I have no idea what that means, and the instructions are pretty bad. The instructions lead with the phrase "with the power OFF" when describing how to set and adjust time, and alarms. So I went online to get the "manual" which is a 2 page flyer with a small section on how to operate (Google memorex cd alarm clock model MC7223 and a PDF of the flyer comes right up), They are VERY tiny instructions - need magnifier. I have had several of these type clocks over several years so I tried just to set the time - a basic function that should be easy. Beware if you do the same and buy "repackaged" (no box) - mine also had NO instructions. I see they are still offering a few at a huge discount so I figured I'd get started with some comments. I got mine really cheap as open box, Warehouse Deals. I will never shop Amazon again if it involves a 3rd party. Essex needs to up their game.Īnd Amazon needs to reconsider their stringent, customer-unfriendly policies. UNACCEPTABLE.Įlectronics of this type require more than a measly 45 day warranty. Then purchasing all over again, this time purchasing the protection plan. So the only recourse I have, would be to go through the effort of re-packaging the item, returning for a refund. They will allow you (10 or14 days I believe) to make up your mind. you do not have to purchase their protection plan at that time. When you make a purchase at Best Buy for example. I was told by a very unhelpful service rep that once purchased, no changes to the transaction could be made. I then attempted to go back to Amazon to purchase the 2 year "protection plan". After contacting Essex, I was informed that they will only offer 45 days! When asked to explain, they simply asked me if I wanted to return the item. The packaging indicates that there is a 90 day warranty once registered. So far my correspondence with the seller Essex has proved frustrating. The phone number that Amazon provided was also useless. If you Google the manufacturer "memorex", and go to the website, it does not offer this model and no contact info. The link will indicate "site can't be reached". The link is useless as I believe the manufacturer is no longer in business. When I received the item, included in the box along with instructions was a link to register the product. My complaint is both with the seller (Essex Technology Group) and Amazon with regards to an inadequate, virtually non-existent warranty. I will just say that I'm happy overall, with the product itself. Over time (years) the LCD will eventually lose it's brilliance. LCD is a pleasant green with a dimmer button. Not the prettiest of form factors, but it gets the job done. Firstly let me say the product is more than adequate for what it's supposed to do considering the price.
